Cafe and information center (revisited)

Exterior and decking area
This project I set myself was firstly a project to examine different uses of natural light. Which has now grown into a full project. The structure is influenced from rolls of turf, or sod as it is also know. This project set in the lake district creates a small center for ramblers or visitors to the area to relax, meet and set off on expeditions from. The structure itself is green roofed to insulate the cafe, and constructed from concrete for greater stability which is also very effective against weathering, specially within wind driven rain the structure has to withstand and a moist environment like the Lake District. More to come through the week!

update! sketch image, interior coming soon.

Promotional Image created for Florence project

Promotional poster for The Florence institute in Liverpool, for a brief I completed found within this blog. The aim of this artwork was to show the derelict decaying image of the site, interlaced with imagery from my proposal, to convey a new leash of life into the site with glimpses of what the interior will look like on the exterior facade. The image portrays a sense of traditional and modern architecture counteracting each other, much like the design for the interior.

Below are image of my proposal for Digital Webform brief, the report and brief of which can be found within this blog, please read through to see how I handled and completed the brief

Above is the title page of the presentation, which was A1 sized, due to blogger only allowing a certain size of image it has been reduced in quality and size. These where mounted and presented along with the whole of my years work in the Graduate Exhibition 2012.
Above, is an image from within Digital Webform located on the 3rd floor relaxation area. On the left is an example of the layout of the building, these axonometric plan drawings are layered with life-like axonometric renderings to highlight certain important areas of the plans
Note; these are examples from my portfollio, therefore samples of larger projects

Digital Webform Report

Here is my proposal for the finished design for Digital Webform. The idea came from each section of a workforce as important as another, each a building block of the company. The concept began while playing a game of jenga with a nephew, and how he would tentatively move some blocks away. In the studio I began manipulating a jenga tower, each block reliant on another I then realized how these spaces can be controlled and created. This is a continued theme throughout the interior and exterior, manipulability and transforming areas to cater all different tasks. Here is the complete report of the project.  Just click next page and have a little read, Thanks!

This report is highly watermarked, if you would like a un-watermarked version please ask and I will provide a clean version. Thank you
